The MACES golf team has experienced many feats, with many players starting this year as their first. From learning how to swing a pitching wedge to learning how to get out of a sand pit. Along with getting the chance to see Tiger Woods play in person and learning a few tips. Leading to MACES golf having a few wins under its belt.  The future is bright for many of these players stated by Mr.Nunez.

One of the players is Caleb Delon. This is his first year playing golf. Delon has made incredible progress for his first year with him scoring a 52. Each player’s improvement led to MACES beating Roosevelt by 2 points. “Something that inspired me to join golf is that I feel like golf is a really fun hobby to know how to play and it’s something you can keep playing as you get older,” said Delon.

There are still a total of 8 games left for golf before players have the chance to go to regionals. Previously golf has had the chance to qualify for that so it’ll be exciting to see if golf can do it again.“I think the season so far is going well. We beat Roosevelt in one of our matches. A lot of the people in golf this year are doing their first time playing golf and they’ve all been working hard so I think this season will be good” said Delon

The team has been putting a lot of effort together with having practice in the morning, after school, and even on weekends. The team as a whole gives up a lot of personal time to be a part of the team, even the team managers spend time to be there and make sure everyone has everything they need for each course.
