The season of volleyball is going to come to an end soon, but the Wolfpack girls volleyball team is still practicing to prepare for the final upcoming games. But how are the games of volleyball organized? 

The captain of the volleyball team, Alaize Medina, a senior who plays a full rotation as an outside hitter, has played volleyball for seven years. She says the reason she likes the sport is because of her four sisters. Her thought on the volleyball team is “she loves her team, They feel like family.”

Aleena Monge, a senior who started in 8th grade, now plays as the defensive specialist. Her thoughts on the sport: “I love the sport, game, and energy that everyone has. It is an outlet and fun.”

Mr.Gomez, a coach and athletic director and a math teacher, organizes the practices and sets up games and tournaments. He said,“I enjoy the game of volleyball. It is a sport where students can participate in if they are athletic or not. It’s a sport that brings people together. ”He has been a part of the sport since fall 1999.

Ms.Ostos is another coach of the team and she says that she has a passion for the sport of volleyball and has a commitment to develop the players to do their best. ”I feel like it is the best sport. It is fun to play and not alot of athleticism is required to play” are more thoughts that she has on volleyball. She works with Mr.Gomez to develop girls’ skills and minds to get them ready to play. She has been coaching for 24 years when she started in 1999.She started coaching in MACES 2017 .
