Alumni Logan Guerrero graduated in 2023 and had different plans for himself; the path Guerrero had in mind was anything but ordinary. Instead of going the typical college route, Guerrero decided that he was going to go to the United States Marine Corps.
Guerrero is not a typical teenager. He always strives to challenge himself and become the best version of himself. Guerrero’s journey is one marked by unwavering determination, self-discipline, and passion for becoming a better person. Guerrero is part of the Military Occupational Specialty, “My job is supply specialist. So what we do is order parts or order anything like any part of the Marine Corps needs and I would be the one who ships it out or delivers it to them,” he said. Guerrero provides to the infantry anytime the Marines are going to war, this is Guerrero’s main job.
When it comes to Guerrero’s regrets, going to college was not one of them. He is very confident in his decision. “I can always go to college in the Marine Corps. Who knows, maybe it’s something I’ll think about in the future,” Guerrero said. As of now, he plans on finishing his four years and then reenlisting to become a Drill Instructor.
Joining the Marines is not something everyone can do, Guerrero faces hardships daily but continues to persevere and keep pushing through. He faces the daily struggle of being away from the ones he loves, but the ones he loves continue to be the sole reason he keeps going every day and continues to make MACES and the rest of our country proud.
But despite all the trials that Guerrero faces in the Marines, his heart continues to stay close to home, in Maywood, “another thing that pushed me to do better in boot camp was thinking of coming home to my family and my girlfriend, they were my motivation throughout the whole thing, everything I did I thought of them and it made me do better on all the stuff I did in boot camp,” Guerrero said. He proves that no matter how far we are or wherever we may be, the ones we love will always keep us going.
Guerrero is no ordinary man, he is exceptional and is continuing to make us at home, proud, he joins a legacy that the rest of the Wolfpack will look up to and pay homage to at any given chance, MACES salutes the alumni in the armed forces.
