Athletes shouldn’t be able to skip out on P.E., because there aren’t negative effects from P.E. before a game day. Being able to work out before a game can help an athlete warm up, and being able to do P.E. Before a game day can also help reduce jitters and nerves which will help the athlete perform better in a game mentally and physically.
It’s unfair to the students who come dressed to P.E. and work out just to see the athletes able to skip workouts and stretches. P.E. is a very beneficial point in an athlete’s workout and helps them prevent injuries. stretching during P.E. is an example of how athletes can benefit and reduce injuries.
The only time it’s reasonable for an athlete to skip out on P.E is if they have a game Juan Duenos, a freshman, said. “Athletes should only be able to skip on p.e if they are dedicated to their sport, if not they shouldn’t be able to skip. Duenos says that P.E. allows him to get more practice in and helps him with his sport overall.”
Xavier Guerrero said that athletes shouldn’t skip out on P.E. Guerrero explains how there are only a couple of reasonable reasons to skip such as game day or injury. Guerrero said the P.E “ gives them that extra running and helps them with their conditioning”
Argeniz Orozco sophomore says “They should skip PE because they already have that cardio/physical education in with a sport,” Orozco said reasonable excuses for an athlete to be able to skip out on P.E would be an injury that doesn’t allow them to play their sport. Orozco said they already have a lot on them with their sport and having to do P.E. is too much.
