Seniors shouldn’t pay $25 to get their picture taken to be in the yearbook. Students were being asked to pay a $25 sitting fee to have their picture taken to be included in the yearbook. From what I know last year, the seniors didn’t pay to get their picture in the yearbook. Ms. Torres, the yearbook adviser and an English teacher said, seniors from last year didn’t have to pay $25 to be in the yearbook, but this year seniors are required to pay $25. Some students feel like the $25 was important for other needs such as supplies, clothes, food, or senior payments. It is very inconvenient for many students to pay $25 and go early to get their pictures taken.
Seniors having to pay $25 to be in the yearbook is not worth it as students should earn their spot automatically, Bryant Gonzalez, a senior, said. The $25 could’ve been invested in necessities like the [food] and useful stuff Gonzalez said. The school is taking advantage of us as every senior student should already have their spot in the yearbook as it’s their school year, Gonzalez said. “I did not go to the senior pictures as I didn’t think it was worth it and [it was] chaotic with the little time they gave us.”
Seniors shouldn’t have to pay $25 as it’s their last year and last time being here. Why are they going to pay $25 to get their picture taken? Alexander Munoz, a senior said. Those $25 could’ve been invested in other stuff like supplies or family [needs], Munoz said. The senior picture seemed like a waste of time and too many people and chaos to take a picture and pay $25. A question I had of the senior pictures was why did they not include the senior picture in the package and instead made seniors pay more money Munoz, a senior said.
Seniors shouldn’t have had to pay for the senior pictures as it should be free instead Gregory Toscano, a senior said. The $25 could have been invested in something else, but it is still a good investment as it’s a memory, Toscano said. “The price of the picture is kind of a privilege as $25 is a little pricey but still a good investment as you get to represent yourself and the school.” I went because it is a family thing that my family does, and it is a tradition to get our senior pictures, Toscano said. “I want to continue it.”
