Graduation is on June 12 which takes place on a Wednesday, and starts at 6:30 p.m. Many families and seniors would have preferred the day on a weekend. Students like the tradition of having graduation on a weekend. Many seniors would’ve preferred the date on a weekend when they can have more time to spend with friends and family.
Graduation should have been on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday instead of Wednesday Destiny Garcia, a senior, said. Garcia said it won’t affect my plans for me, but for others, it would. Would the school have changed it if people didn’t like graduation on a Wednesday? Garcia said, “I didn’t know about graduation being on a Wednesday, but my thoughts now are that it’s just on a random day of the week.”
Graduation on Wednesday seems potentially problematic for many students and families, Roger Rosales, a senior, said. Overall, graduation day should fall on the weekend. Many people are more capable of making it to graduation, Rosales, a senior, said. “I could imagine graduation on Wednesday is more for staff and teachers than student’s schedules. I would most likely not go to graduation since it is landing on Wednesday. I would rather not go if it doesn’t fit in my family schedule and mine.”
Graduation should be on a weekday instead of a Wednesday because family and friends most likely will not be free, Joshua Gonzalez, a senior, said. They thought families were free on a Wednesday, so that is why they made it on a Wednesday Gonzalez, a senior, said. “It will impact my schedule of getting there later and my family not being able to show up.”
