In a Hollywood world full of entertainment films, it’s quite impossible not to hear about an inspiring film surrounding football, so what makes GRIDIRON GANG different?
GRIDIRON GANG is a compelling sports movie that has much more meaning than just young inmates playing football because their counselor told them to.
If anything, this film was a masterpiece as it showed that it is possible to overcome anything hard in life if one just proves to oneself that they are capable of achieving something better if only one believes in oneself that one can change for the better and gain personal growth in life. What made this more interesting was that it came from the perspective of once-troubled teenagers in a juvenile detention center.
This film is based on a true story and follows Sean Porter (played by Dwayne Johnson), a counselor at a juvenile detention center, who initiates the idea of forming a football team. He hoped to show the troubled teenagers that they were capable of being a part of something and they were so much more than being affiliated with gangs and causing fights in and out of the camp.
In the beginning, many young inmates referred to themselves as losers and didn’t see a potential future ahead. But being part of the Mustangs, the name of the football team, changed them as they showed people they were a team and no longer the losers they were before.
In addition, it was quite enjoyable to see that some of the inmates could progress further in their lives without the need for violence to occur as most of them got out of the juvenile center shortly after the football season ended and improved their lives drastically. Without a doubt, would recommend anyone to watch this film in hopes of getting something out of it and in a way to be inspired on how good it is to change as a better person and not feel stuck in life anymore.
