Daniella Hernandez is currently the Editor in Chief of Design at Maywood Center for Enriched Studies. She enjoys playing basketball on her school's team because she gets to engage with all her closest friends. When she isn't at basketball, she is practicing color guard with her school’s marching band, and getting ready for their next performance. She is currently the Vice President of her school’s Interact Club, where “service above self” is the club’s main goal. Last year, her Interact Club was rewarded “District Club of the Year” for participating in the Interact International “Make Rain for Water” project. She has taken a photography course in the past that has enabled her to capture the present in interesting perspectives. Daniella’s favorite animal is a cow because she thinks they’re adorable. She really enjoys expressing herself through makeup; in fact, it’s her favorite form of self-expression. Some of Daniella’s interests include science and social justice. During the summer of 2019, she went on an all-paid Earthwatch Ignite expedition to study the coastal ecology of Texas. In college, Daniella hopes to be majoring in environmental science or social justice at Pomona College.  In Journalism, she hopes to increase her school’s school spirit and become more aware of current events around her community. She hopes to unite the students at her school and get more of them involved with school activities.
