Kate De La Torre is the Broadcast Editor and one of two illustrators for the Wolfpack Times. The school year of 2020-2021 marks her second and last year participating in Mr. Cottom’s Journalism class. In February of 2020, De La Torre brought home a 1st place award for News Writing in the SCJEA competitions as a junior and is hoping to achieve that same thing this year, being her Senior year. Her new position as an illustrator for the Wolfpack Times is a reflection of her love for art and her wish to improve in illustration before she goes off to college & studies toward a career in the arts. Her artwork is available to view via @katluiart on Instagram, where she sells prints, customizes shoes, and more. Although the Wolfpack Times may not publish physical copies for the remainder of the 2020 semester, De La Torre and the rest of the team are working hard to release great content on Instagram, Youtube, and the Wolfpack Times website.  If you would like to contact Kate, her email is [email protected]

A SENIOR YEAR UNIMAGINED- The Class of 2021 had an unimaginable year in which staying motivated was a challenge. If more in-person events were to have been planned, seniors may have been more motivated for school. “For seniors its all about time stamps, like class t-shirts, and prom,” Christopher Ascencio, a senior, said.

THE SEMESTER WAS NOT TRAGIC - Students were hesitant going into the online semester, but it was not the worst experience. Adversity was present but students finished the semester and look forward to the next challenge. We survived. Exhausted and probably burned out too, but we finished this year and hopefully the next is better Diana Oliva, a senior, said.
